July 4th is just around the corner. We LOVE decorating for this holiday but our physical space for seasonal decor is limited this year. We wanted to show our red, white & blue pride and needed a small and simple solution. We made this mini double-sided patriotic banner using Birch wood paper and a few simple supplies. The entire banner assembled is 12″ x 5″, perfect for any small space. We decorated the flip side for variety. Happy 4th!
With just a few simple supplies you can create darling decor for any holiday! Create your banner base first and then we suggest you gather supplies in a color scheme and simply play and have fun creating.
Supplies for double-sided USA Banner: 6″ x 12″ Birch Wood paper, red and blue patterned paper, white card stock, red adhesive letters/numbers, star punch, baker’s twine, mini office clips (red, white & blue), NUVO Scarlet Red Pure Sheen Glitter, NUVO Medium Tipped Glue Pen, foam adhesive and scissors.
To create your banner base:
1. Adhere the 6″ x 12″ Birch wood paper to red and blue patterned papers.
2. Cut each banner shape to 2″ x 5″. Flag one end in a banner shape.
3. Repeat as needed for as many banner pieces as you need.

Tip: We wanted to added just a little texture and shimmer to our banner. We hand drew in the stripe shape with a NUVO Medium Tipped Glue Pen and sprinkled with a little NUVO Scarlet Red Pure Sheen Glitter. The glue pen draws easily and this amazing glitter stuck instantly to the Birch wood paper. So simple.
