Trim the Tree Holiday Card

With Black Friday later this week, you are most likely gearing up for shopping, decorating and probably even thinking about sending out a holiday greeting card–why not make this fun Trim the Tree White Birch Wood card part of your plans?

Supplies: White Birch Wood Sheet, White Birch Sticky Wood Sheet, Cherry Wood Tape, White Card Stock, 1 Small Red Button, 1 Medium Red Button, 1 Small Dark Green Button, 1 Medium Dark Green Button, 1 Small Light Green Button, 2 Medium Light Green Buttons, Green Ink, Alphabet Die, Die cutting machine, ½ inch solid Circle Stamp, 3/8” Circle Punch, Star Punch, Glue Dots (or other adhesive), and Hemp Twine.

Trim the Tree ‘Joy’ Holiday Card Instructions:

  1. Trim a sheet of White Birch Wood to 8 ½ x 5 ½-inches. Score at 4 ¼-inches and fold in half.
  2. Cut a piece of Cherry Wood Tape to 4 ¼-inches long and adhere to front of card approximately ¼-inch from the bottom.
  3. Cut the letters ‘j’, ‘o’, and ‘y’ from an alphabet die out of White Birch Sticky. Peel backing from Sticky Wood and adhere on top of Cherry Wood tape, just to the right of the card center.
  4. Cut approximately 5 inches of hemp twine, tie into a bow and adhere to the left of the ‘joy’ on the Cherry Wood tape using a glue dot.
  5. Using star punch, punch a star out of Cherry Wood tape. Center at the top of the card approximately 1/8-inch down, from the top, and adhere.
  6. On a piece of white card stock, stamp three 1/2-inch solid circle stamp in green ink. Punch out with 3/8” circle punch.
  7. Next, adhere 1 medium light green button approximately ¼-inch below star.
  8. Adhere 1 stamped green circle below the light green button, slightly to the left, and adhere 1 small dark green button next to it.
  9. Repeat step 8 with 1 medium red button, 1 small light green button and 1 green stamped circle.
  10. Complete last line of tree by adhering 1 medium dark green button below the red button and slightly to the left. Next to it add 1 stamped green circle, 1 small red button and finally, 1 medium light green button.

Thankful Banner Decor

Thinking forward to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and your table décor? Well, here is a center piece idea that is easy and fun to make, using our Cherry Real Wood Tape and Birch Real Wood Tape.

Supplies: Cherry Real Wood TapeBirch Real Wood Tape, Gold Glitter Tape, Orange Twine, White Card Stock, 1-1/4 inch Circle Punch, Alphabet Stamp Set, Orange Ink, Blue Ink, Brown Ink, Foam Dimensionals, 5-inch tall Clay Pot (or any other planter pot), 1/8-inch Wooden Dowel (trimmed to 12-inches) or Wooden Food Skewer, White Crinkle Paper, Scissors, and Tissue Paper.

Thankful Banner Décor Instructions:

1. Begin by wrapping gold glitter tape around the top rim of clay pot. Then fill the base with tissue paper, leave an inch at the top to finish off with white crinkle paper.

2. Poke two 12 inch wood skewers or dowels into the tissue paper in pot.

3. Take orange twine and fasten to each end of the skewers with a bow.

4. Next, take orange, blue and brown ink and stamp the letters ‘T’, ‘h’, ‘a’, ‘n’, ‘k’, ‘f’, ‘u’, ‘l’ using an alphabet set on a white piece of card stock. Leave approximately 1-1/4 inch between each letter.

5. Take a 1-1/4 inch circle punch and punch out each letter in the center of the circle.

6. Next trim 4, 5 inch pieces of Cherry Real Wood tape and 4, 5 inch pieces of Birch Real Wood tape. Score each piece in the middle.

7. Beginning with a Birch piece of Real Wood tape, peel backing and wrap tape around orange twine. Align the two sides of the tape and stick them together.

8. Repeat step 7, alternating between the Cherry Real Wood tape and Birch Real Wood tape pieces, until the entire line is filled. Using a pair of scissors trim each piece of the Cherry Real Wood tape and Birch Real Wood tape pieces into a pinked edge.

9. Trim 8, 2-inch pieces of gold glitter tape with one end pinked.

10. Adhere each of the gold glitter tape pieces to the center of each of the Real Wood tape pieces.

11. Next, adhere each 1-1/4 inch circle with the letters of the stamped ‘Thankful’ to the center of each pennant along the banner using foam dimensionals.

What are your favorite Thanksgiving family traditions? Aside from sharing a wonderful meal with those we love, do you write thank-you notes or keep a thankful journal? Well, today we’d like to share one tradition that may be a great addition to your Thanksgiving season. Our Cherry Wood Thankful Notes are the perfect way to capture the things that we are most grateful for. Keep these little notes on display throughout upcoming weeks or tuck them into an album for safe keeping, and be sure to enjoy this season of gratitude and thanksgiving.

Supplies: Cherry  Wood Sheets, Label die cut, Manuel or electronic die cutting machine, 1/4-inch Brown Ribbon, 1/8-inch hand punch, ‘A Note of Thanks’ Stamp, Label Punch, Pattern Paper, Vanilla Card Stock, Foam Dimensionals and Adhesive.

Thankful Note Card Instructions:

1. Trim three patterns of paper to 5×7 inches each.

2. Trim three pieces of vanilla colored card stock to 4×6-inches each.

3. Adhere three vanilla card stock pieces to the center of each 5×7 pattern paper piece.

4. Using a label die cut shape (approximately 4-1/2 x 31/2-inches) and die cutting machine (sizzix big shot was used here) cut three Cherry Wood labels out. Be sure the grain in going length-wise on each label, this will ensure a crisp fold without cracking. Score center of label length-wise and fold in half.

5. Lay folded labels over the top edge of each card and using a 1/8-inch hand punch, place two holes, one approximately 1/2-inch from the left edge and 1-1/25 inches from the top. Place the other hole approximately 1/2-inch in from the right edge of the card and 1-1/25 inches from the top of the card.

6. Trim three pieces of 1/4-inch brown ribbon to approximately 18 inches in length.

7. Tread the ribbon down through the right 1/8-inch hole on each card, around the back and come up through the left hole.

8. Fasten each ribbon with a bow on the front left side of each card.

9. On a piece of vanilla card stock, using the ‘A Note of Thanks’, stamp three times.

10. Using a long label punch, punch the each stamped sentiment out.

11. Using foam dimensionals adhere to the top of each card along the brown ribbon on the right side.
