Faux Watercolor on Real Wood

Check out these gorgeous wood prints! Think of all the amazing things you could do with Real Wood!

This project looks like we spent a serious amount of time and effort to watercolor a bouquet of flowers onto Birch wood. This design has simply been printed with a regular ink jet printer onto a sheet of Birch Wood paper. We loved the result so much we decided to create a set of gift note cards. These printed wood note cards paired with Wood envelopes will make great gifts.

Supplies for printed wood note cards: 8.5″ x 11″  Birch Wood paper, 4bar Birch Wood envelopes, Inkjet printer, Bouquet art file, Big Shot and label die shape.

Instructions for printed wood note cards:

1. Download Bouquet art file.

2. Size art file down to 4″x 5″ and add a typeset ‘Thank You’ in a design program. Arrange four of your designs onto an 8.5″ x 11″ canvas size. Print onto an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of Birch wood.

3. Using a label die and the Big Shot, cut out four cards. Note these are flat cards with no fold.

4. Pair with four 4bar Birch Wood Envelopes to create a 4 note card gift set.

Wrap it with Real Wood

This week we wanted to spruce up our office. We wrapped a few everyday office items with Cherry Wood adhesive paper and tape. We love the warmth  wood adds to any surface. We added a Cherry wood tape to trim a set of basic office storage.Cherry Wood is a thin, real wood sheet with permanent adhesive backing. You can wrap any smooth surface and change the look of any ordinary item. What will you wrap?

Rustic Birch Flower Vase door decor

We hope you are enjoying your Labor Day! We are welcoming September and the cooler weather. Our front door needed some seasonal sprucing up so we decided to create some door decor using Rustic Birch wood. We added fresh flowers to our Rustic Birch Flower Vase and love the result. Swap out flowers for every season and you’ll have a decor piece for the entire year. What can you create with Wood?

Supplies for the Rustic Birch Wood door decor: Rustic Birch Adhesive roll, four plastic tubes, hot glue and glue gun, crop-a-dile, scissors, ribbon and flowers.

Instructions for Rustic Birch Wood door decor:

1. Measure plastic tube height and diameter. Ours measured 6.75 x 3.75. Cut four Rustic Birch wood pieces to the plastic tube measurements.

2. Remove adhesive liner from the Rustic Birch wood and adhere to the plastic tube. Trim excess if needed. Note: we chose to wrap plastic tubes in the Rustic wood so we could fill the tubes with water if needed. The same look could be achieved with paper tubes and fake flowers.

3. Glue the four tubes together using hot glue.

4. Punch a .25 hole in the far left and far right tube approximately 1 inch below the top of the tube.

5. Cut two 12″ pieces of ribbon.

6. Push one ribbon end through the punched hole in the left tube. Tie knot to secure. Repeat this step for the right tube.

7. Tie both ribbon ends together at the top to hang decor.

8. Fill with seasonal fresh or fake flowers and hang.
