Hello! A Sparkly Copper Hello.

Hello friends! With the end of August nearing we are looking forward to a beautiful September and the start of Fall. Do you decorate for fall? We sure do. Adding Metallic Glitter Cardstock is a simple way to add a little glitz to your fall home decor.

Just like traditional paper, you can use our Glitter cardstock to cover just about anything. Our local craft store carries many words created from cardboard or thick chipboard. Here we have covered a large chipboard HELLO with Copper Glitter Cardstock. Our Glitter cardstock is available in 3 sizes; 6″x6″, 8.5″x11″ and 12″x12″.

All you need is a little time, Glitter cardstock, adhesive, scissors, sanding block and an x-acto knife.  Adhere the glitter cardstock to the Hello. We used a spray mounting adhesive. Roughly trim around the word with scissors. Clean up your cutting with an x-acto knife. Sand the edges with a sanding block and you are ready for display.

Counting the days – Perpetual Calendar created with Ranger Ink Emboss IT Products

We are super excited to share another product collaboration with our friends at Ranger Ink. Ranger Ink is known for their innovative product offerings of ink, tools and craft products. Click here to see the cool stuff they created on their blog with our Real Wood Paper.

We paired our Real Cherry and Birch Wood paper with their amazing embossing powders and embossing inks to create this perpetual December calendar. We love how rich the metallic embossing powders appear on the Cherry Wood paper. The rich warm tones of the embossing fits perfectly with the rich warm tones of the Cherry Wood paper.

We randomly lined the edge of the Cherry Wood paper with Ranger Emboss IT ink and pens. We used the clear Emboss IT pen to add a little spot detailing. Wanting even more texture, we added a few pearly accents with random dots of Liquid Pearls.

Create your own Perpetual Countdown calendar. Simply print this perpetual-calendar onto your favorite finish of Real Wood Paper. Cut out, embellish and assemble as you like. Happy December!

Be sure to check out Ranger Ink on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter & Blog to see their whole line up of products and the amazing things you can do with them! We love Ranger Ink!

Cherry Wood Bough Wreath

We love to make cherished holiday decor that we can display year after year. This Cherry Wood wreath was a little labor intensive, but creating it was a labor of love. We created this wreath using Cherry Wood paper and the Take a Bough Die from Concord & 9th. We had so many little boughs left over that we created a couple of fun cards. Below are tips on creating this wreath.

Cherry Wood Boughs Wreath
1. Die-cut 100 boughs in Cherry Wood paper in 3 various lengths using a manual die cutter and the Take a Bough dies.
2. Hot glue boughs on cardboard wreath base starting with the largest boughs first.
3. Hot glue another ring of boughs using the medium bough.
4. Hot glue another ring of boughs using the smallest bough.
5. Fill in any holes or thin spots with additional boughs.
6. Hot glue 3 tiny pinecones in the bottom center of wreath.
7. Tie red yarn bow and glue next to pinecones.

Goodbye April! DIY Plant markers using Real Wood Paper

April has been so rainy and lush. We are sad to say goodbye but are looking forward to May flowers and lots of sunshine. Today we are bringing you a fun DIY project using a little “living sunshine” aka wheat grass. Plant markers are a fun way to label and dress up your plants and herbs. We grow wheat grass and other herbs in pots on our kitchen windowsill. The wheat grass, while decorative, is also healthy. We created this simple plant marker using Real Cherry Wood paper to decorate the wheat grass. We will make a plant marker for each month of the year.

We have become increasingly interested in the benefits of wheat grass. Here is a great article from Chalkboard magazine on 50 reasons to eat wheat grass every day. Wheat grass is also super easy to grow. Here are some tips on successful growing here.

Supplies: Real Cherry Wood Paper, April Word embellishment (Studio Calico), plant dowel, hot glue and emery board.

  1. Cover the APRIL word embellishment from using our Real Cherry Wood paper. Cut around the APRIL word shape as close as you can to the embellishment.
  2. Sand any rough edges around the APRIL embellishments with an emery board.
  3. Hot glue the APRIL word to a small wooden plant dowel.

Here’s another tip! Create simple herb plant markers using our Real Wood tapes in Birch or Cherry. Wrap the tape around a wooden plant dowel. Trim and write directly onto the wood using a sharpie.

While you’re at it, check out this awesome Wheatgrass smoothie recipe from www.easyhealthysmoothie.com. Yum!!!
