Using EVO Synthetic Papers with masking pens

Check out this fantastic painted EVO card using a Pebeo Drawing Gum Marker. When you mask EVO synthetic paper before you paint you can achieve stunning high contrast looks. One of our designers, Kim, wrote LOVE YOU on a sheet of EVO using the gum marker. She then painted the background, let dry, and removed the masking ink to reveal a perfectly masked handwritten ‘LOVE YOU’ showcasing the bright white of EVO Synthetic Paper underneath. So fun!
Step by step instructions to recreate this look:

1. Draw on the EVO Synthetic paper with a Pebeo Drawing Gum Marker and allow the ink to dry. (Ink will remain blue even when it’s dry.)

2. When fluid is dry to the touch, apply alcohol ink on top of the drawn design.

3. Allow ink to dry.

4. Use a “gummy eraser” to rub off masking fluid from the paper.

Here’s another card using EVO Synthetic paper and a Pebeo Drawing Gum Marker. This card is slightly different. We painted on the EVO paper first, once dry we added masking and then painted again for a subtle tone on tone look. Achieve this masked look in five easy steps.

Missing You DEMO:

1. Apply a thin layer of alcohol ink to EVO paper.

2. Draw on top of the base layer with a Pebeo Drawing Gum Marker and allow the ink to dry.

3. When fluid is dry to the touch, apply darker shade of alcohol ink on top of the drawn design.

4. Allow ink to dry.

5. Use a “gummy eraser” to rub off masking fluid from the paper.
