Celebrate Mom with a Birch Wood Mother’s Day Card

A handmade, handcrafted card can pull at the heartstrings. We think DIY gifts are the best. Classy DIY gifts for Mom are even better! We created this Mother’s Day card and printed it on Birch wood paper. We gathered and planted a few succulents in a cute pot and hung a matching tag from Birch wood paper. We are so pleased with our gifts and are excited to share them with you. Together, these gifts will help us recognize Mom this year. Happy Mother’s day.

Supplies for card & tags: Birch Wood Paper, card & tag design, Darice Curved Rectangle dies, Big Shot die cut machine, hole punch, ink jet printer, linen thread and plant in pot.

Instructions:

1. Design a Mother’s day card and tag in your favorite design software.

2. Print the card and tag onto a sheet of Birch wood paper using an ink jet printer. You can get one card and six tags from one 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of Birch wood paper.

3. Cut out the card. Our flat card measures 11″ x 4.25″  and 5.5″ x 4.25″ when folded. Tip: when printing your card be aware of the grain direction of the wood paper. Always fold WITH the grain to avoid cracking.

4. Die cut the hang tags using the smallest shape from the Darice Curved Rectangle dies and a Big Shot die cut machine.

5. Punch a hole and tie a piece of linen thread onto the tag. Hang the tag from planted pot or gift.
