Real Wood Pocket Cards

This week we created simple Wood pocket cards using the various Wood finishes. Pocket cards have many uses. Use a pocket card as an interesting way to enclose a note for someone, add an interactive element to a scrapbook page, or create memorable packaging for gift cards and note cards. Wood is so versatile and looks amazing partnered with your favorite patterned paper.

Supplies for the ‘Real Wood Pocket’ cards: White Birch Wood Adhesive Sheet, Rustic White Birch Adhesive Sheet, Rustic Cherry Wood Adhesive Sheet, Cherry Wood Adhesive Sheet, a variety of patterned papers, Big Shot or die cutting machine, pocket card die, adhesive, sanding block, and pinking scissors.

Pocket Card Directions:

1. Remove adhesive liner from the back of the White Birch Wood Adhesive Sheet and back with a sheet of patterned paper. Please note: The White Birch Wood might show the pattern from the pattern paper through the wood.

2. Cut out a pocket from the pattern paper lined Wood sheet using a Big Shot and a pocket card die.

3. Trim the pocket top and front pouch using pinking scissors. See example.

4. Fold and assemble the pocket card. Adhere side and bottom together.

5. Sand off any wood splinters from the folded edges using a sanding block.

6. Repeat steps 1-5 to make more pocket cards with your favorite Wood; White Birch Wood, Rustic White Birch, Rustic Cherry Wood, Cherry Wood.
